Overview Bement Camp and Conference Center is a non-profit organization owned and operated by the Episcopal Diocese of Western Massachusetts. In 1948, 110 acres were purchased in Charlton Depot with a bequest by Mary V. Bement — and that summer 98 boys and 68 girls attended camp at Bement for the first time. Bement has expanded to a full summer camp and seasonal conference center with use of 580 acres. It now touches the lives of more than 2,000 people during the course of the year. Bement's grounds and facilities continue to provide fertile ground for new experiences and bring peace and togetherness to all those who visit, whether for a day or a week or a summer. The current site includes the 25-acre Jones Pond, picturesque Mill Stream winding through the woods and two large open fields for games and sporting events. Other facilities include three-season cabins, year-round conference buildings, a dining hall, rec hall, chapel, pool and many other outdoor and indoor resources. Bement has a rich history of providing meaningful and even life-changing experiences to youth and adults. We invite you to be our guest as you get out of the ordinary and into the woods!
